AR installation for the State Tretyakov Gallery
The AR installation for the State Tretyakov Gallery is built on one clear device: a painting stops being flat.

Through augmented reality the image opens up in three dimensions – what looks two-dimensional on the canvas emerges in space and gains depth.
Mystic was responsible for the AR implementation: the software and the content that turn a flat canvas into a three-dimensional scene right on the screen of the viewer's device. Technically this means recognising the painting and building volume on top of the real image, combined so that the effect works precisely and without lag. The device serves a museum goal – giving the visitor a different angle on a familiar work without rewriting the work itself.
For a venue on the level of the Tretyakov Gallery this is a way to add a digital layer to its ongoing work with classical art while leaving the original untouched. The project belongs to the studio's line of digital installations, where interactivity and software combine with the artistic content of a museum display.
