Mystic created the content for the water screens and the music design of the show – projections onto a water curtain, where the image holds on a flow of water rather than a solid surface.
The main challenge of the project is synchronisation. The content on the water screens ran in tandem with a laser and pyrotechnic show: the laser and pyrotechnics echoed elements of the image, reinforcing every accent. Bringing three different instruments – video, laser, fire – into a single timing is harder than running each separately, because any desync is visible to the viewer instantly.
The work included the creative concept, CG content, sound and light, technical implementation. The running time was 12 minutes, and the show drew 160,000 viewers.
Water screens have their own specifics: the image lives on a moving, semi-transparent surface, and the content has to be prepared taking into account how the projection lies on the water. Combined with pyrotechnics, this becomes a task of directing several stage systems at once, all working toward one effect and one shared climax of the show.
