A visitor would approach the mirror and, through recognition, virtually try on national ornaments and headdresses.
Mystic assembled the object in full. The work included technical design, fabrication of the structure, software, AR content, installation and commissioning – that is, the physical structure of the mirror, the recognition and the try-on graphics themselves. This is a full cycle: the studio made the hardware, the software and the content in a single object.
What sets this case apart is that the installation found a second life. After the forum, the “Smart Mirror” moved to the National Museum of the Mari El Republic and continued to work in the permanent display. An exhibition object built for a specific event passed the test of a museum format and stayed in the region. This is a rare path for an exhibition object – from a temporary stand to a permanent museum collection.
AR with a national-costume try-on is a way to show the culture of Mari El through personal experience: the visitor sees the headdress not in a showcase but on themselves, and remembers it exactly that way.
